DO I NEED A DIFF HOOD IF I S/C OR TURBOCH?

OK, I'm apologizing again, because I can't seem to stay away from this thread.
Call me a sh!t head, but I can't really make decisions on my own when it comes to boosting my S. This is not my area of expertise. It will definitely be unwise and stupid of me if I made decisions on my own without really digging for info from the EXPERTS here.
I've have been searching various forums on our site, constantly use google, and been reading various tuning magazines to further search info on turbocharging for the S.
I'm so freakin' overwhelmed mainly because I don't understand 99% of the terminologies they use. I often end up doing further research just to figure out what those terminologies are. My background is medical/health science, not mechanical/automotive engineering
I've decided to purchase one of those books (maybe two books) I found on the Amazon's site regarding mods and hacks for dummies
or one of those guide for the helpless idiots
Any recommendations from the EXPERTS would be greatly appreciated. I've read reviews of these books from the Amazon's site, but I still would like to hear your opinion.
Also, I didn't realize that Vortech isn't the only company that offers Turbo kit for The S. I just assumed it because it was the main company mentioned in our various forums. I found Rev Hard, Ultime Racing Turbo Kit, raceInspired, there are just endless turbo kits out there from what I found on the web. I don't know if these are even reliable. Are these kits all come from one company, Vortech. Or, do they make their own kits? Again, please forgive my stupidity, but at least I'm asking the EXPERTS
I don't make the same mistake again (e.g., purchasing additional warranty for MY06) without doing my research.
I've also read horror stories on how unreliable, maintenance-prone these turbo kits are. And as a complete automotive moron, it really worries me as I really don't have time, energy nor the knowledge to deal with the up-keep of turbocharger. I know the supercharger kits also require maintenance, but it seems (from what I've read so far) that is definitely less headaches in comparison to turbocharger even do turbocharger definitely generate for HP than a supercharger.
With the lack of knowledge and frustrations due to confusion, perhaps it's just a good idea for me to wait modifying my car until they've fine-tuned these turbo kits for The S.
Thanks for letting me vent out my frustration. I 've noticed how much these "turbocharging" has consumed most of my energy---it's becoming unproductive of me. I just had to post my frustration here as I always value the AUTOMOTIVE GURUS' knowledge and opinions.
Thanks again

Vortech makes a supercharger I don't think they make a turbo kit. Several people down here in FL are running the inline pro kit without any problems. Problems occur when people keep boosting for more and more power. A turbo kit can be very reliable but have a good tuner on hand.

Too power hungry???
Can you kindly elaborate on this? What you you recommend the most optimal turbo power for The S without sacrificing reliability? I've read various power data here, but again everyone seems to be proud of their turbocharging efforts.
I'm not a power hungry monster
, however, I would prefer more additional power than what a supercharger provides and maintain same reliability as superchargers known for. Is this possible or would I have a better chance of being sprinkled with fairy dusts on my face?
Technically, what is the most ideal turbo power on our S too keep it from a maintenance nightmare.
Again, thanks for your expertise.

Few questions if I may in reference to 350-380 whp range...
1) What is the frequency (how often?) of the so-called proactive maintenance you are referring to?
a) are we speaking in terms of monthly? b) average/number of miles driven?
2) What is the average cost of keeping your turbo properly tuned? And again, how often do you tune-ups? Monthly basis? or again based on average/number of miles driver?
3) 350-380 whp range...Is that the total whp including the 237HP came with my06?
Sorry for all these questions
DAMN, I really need to pick up those "dummy" guides
