Thumbs up Do I need a Flex Pipe for the Greddy Turbo Kit?

Hey guys I will be doing the Greddy Turbo kit with a custom Cat-Back exhasut, not sure if I will do a Test Pipe, or just run it straight back to the Down-pipe, however Where do I get a 3in Flex Pipe so I dont end up crakcing the system? I havent looked under my car, but I would imagine any flex pipe that is there, is less then 3 in in diamter, thanks guys!

Flex pipe would go right after the downpipe connecting the downpipe to the testpipe / cat-back exhaust

I don't have a greddy kit so no idea.

I'd assume any exhaust shop would sell them.

got ya, thanks bro, hey you know a lot what do you think of the Carbon Ti 120mm Tip HKS mufflers with 3 inch piping back to a test Pipe, do you think it would sound too loud, or will the turbo quite it down some?

greddy kit doesn't come w/ a flex pipe, and a test piped 3" system will be REALLY loud. i have a stock cat w/ 80mm catback and it hurts my ears.

Thats not good news, I am wondering if I should just leave the cat on for noise purposes, last thing I want is to be obnoxiously loud for everyday driving, however the Test Pipe might be worth 15hp????????. Damn not sure what I should do.... Chris, even with the Turbo its loud ha?

The sound is very debatable.

I have a full 3" exhaust from the header back with a little muffler at the end and I don't consider it loud by any means.

When I was NA, my invidia was atleast 1.5 times louder. Remember the turbo acts as a small muffler.

It's not really too debatable. Most would consider 110+ dB loud. Thats what my car runs. I dread the thought of running a test pipe w/ my 80mm catback.

JoeyBalls, if you are local, i would be happy to let you hear my exhaust. The exhaust physically hurt my ears in the beginning (i got used to it somewhat--or lost hearing), but it's still unbearable at times. Another greddy TK owner pmed me about this, and i suggested a 70mm system due to the loudness of my car w/ an 80mm. He has a testpipe and 70mm system and still thinks its loud now, he was glad that he didn't get the 3". But keep in mind also, that what exhaust system you get will make a difference too. I was fortunate enough to ride in Tommys (GoTuningTommy) car last night, he has is n/a w/ a header, testpipe and 70mm asm exhaust and his car is super quiet compared to mine. If you want to run a test pipe, my personal suggestion is run a 70mm system or if you want a 3", get one w/ a large muffler section to keep the sound down as much as possible.

Thanks bro, I would love to come for a ride, but I am in Jersey. I was going to use the Carbon HKS Ti Mufflers, 3 in inlet with 120mm tips I believe...... I will keep the stock cat on when I first install the Turbo kit anyway, If its not too loud Ill do a test-pipe and get it re-tuned. The HKS Mufflers are pretty big, I heard they sound good, but agian I don't know if that was 2.5 piping or 3.0, well see
