OK, rather than start a new thread, I'll resurrect this one. Unlike "justdoitmikey" I'm concerned about my new-to-me baby. Do I need to worry about potentially hurting boosted engine driving for a week at 2000-4000 feet and possibly going as high as 6000 feet when the tune is for 600 feet?

I bought the car in Ft. Worth Texas at around 600 feet where it spent it's whole life (40K miles) and the nearly new 2007 S2000 was Full Race turbo'ed in 2009 and in current tune was making 380hp/280tq. The shop that did the original install and work seemed to be saying it should be run around 10psi but frankly, I have no idea of any numbers. I do have an AF mixture gauge that I'll have to figure out over time.

So I live here at 400 feet and most of my driving will be between 200 and 800 feet. Driving home to Maryland after buying it in January I came through the Smoky and Appalachian mountains and got up to 2000-3000 feet and it also turned into a cold night with flurries in the 20's. I didn't hammer it and everything worked fine, sounded fine.

I'm going down to the Dragon in the Smoky's AND am considering a run up to Clingman's Dome at 6000+ feet while there plus other drives in that 2000+ foot range.

My two part question:
1) Would you get a new Tune for the 600 mile drive down through the spine of the mountains, 600 more miles there at higher altitudes and coming back?
2) Is it possible to get a professional to create several different "tune" files that the owner can load/program into their car for changing conditions.

I would think that you'd want one tune for DD, another for a 600 mile 60-90 mostly steady state highway drive, another for a track day and another for a week spent at 2000-6000 feet rather than 200 to 800 feet. Does anyone do this kind of thing, a non-tuner loading in different programs to their computer for expected conditions. Personally, I wanted the car for the AP2, low miles, one owner, well cared for, coil overs done, BBK done, nice wheels done, custom paint done and even thought that at some point I might take off the turbo so I could even see having a tune or two for regular driving really turning down the performance for increased reliability and longevity.

I've had a bunch of Volvo turbo's including two V70R's (still have one with a 6-MT) but they are factory sorted out systems with nobody seeming to change anything for any different conditions.

So, worry or no worry? One tune or multiple tunes? Self load or pay for a tune at every change?
Thanks for helping out a NOOBI.

If i ever bought an already modified car, I would always get it tuned right away just to be safe.. Even if the lastn owner already tuned it.
