Do I need these extra components? For Clutch
I have a vortech running on stock boost, planning to change out clutch with Act HDSS kit(disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing), the installer im looking at told me i might want to change out these parts also. What do you think? is it necessary?
It is recommended to change/replace:
Driveshaft bolts (important on ap1s)
Subframe bolts
Clutch fork retention spring
Pilot bearing
Slave cylinder if you're putting a stronger pressure plate in.

I am the installer. Let me clarify some things.
I said its a good idea to replace the clutch fork retention spring; its only three dollars.
On the subframe bolts: The service manual recommends it. they stretch. On the last AP1 I did, the four load-bearing bolts were so Galled, he had to have the frame rethreaded (hela-coiled).
On the slave cylinder: The slave is effectively a wearable item (ask me how I found that out). ACT pressure plates are especially notorious (I know they were supposed to have fixed it) for blowing out clutch components. They are forty bucks and well worth doing while the car is up. again, up to you depending on how long you plan on keeping the car.
I am not trying to milk you for money or make things seem overly complex. My aim is to do a quality job so you are happy and you tell other people how thorough and thoughtful I was and how satisfied you were with my work.
By the way, I can do it for less if your supercharger does not interfere with getting to the starter bolt behind the alternator. Does it have the aftercooler?
