Do i need to wire up my airpump?
hey guys, i am just about done with my install. I have to take the white wire from the rewired airpump up front and route it to under my dash, but the metal clip at the end broke off. i was doing a little bit of research and there are quite some people here that took out their entire air pump assembly. A lot of them said it is useless, but is it useless only if you have a standalone EMS? i am running a piggyback VAFC and planning to go EMS soon. so this is my question:
is it essential to plug in the air pump with my setup?

If you pull out your airpump without the EMS you'll get a check engine light.

I say yes you need it unless you don't have a cat... then it's pretty much useless.
If it's because the connector broke off, go to radio shack and buy a new one for less than 25 cents.
You've already got everything broken down, so do it. Why risk doing damage when the correct install is only 25 cents away?
Do what your going to do....

brian the white wire is associated with the aftercooler pump, not the air pump. the aftercooler pump gets its power from the air pump - the white wire is just so the aftercooler pump turns on when the ignition is turned on.
you dont need to have the air pump its pretty much useless, but you need the aftercooler pump to work otherwise your AC will be useless.
