Default Does CF do well with heat from a turbo?

My Top Secret Hood is awfully close to my turbo with the new setup. I was just curious as to how well CF does under extreme heat. Do I need to worry about my hood melting? Any other concerns. After driving the underside is scalding hot. THanks.

My carbon fiber wrapped Cusco strut bar is about 1/4" away from the turbo, I'll let you know if it melts.

Thanks...that's no the most reassuring answer. Anybody else know the properties of carbon fiber?

Sometimes it can develop cracks. Warpage could also occur.

Having said that, some use it as a heat shield so there is no doubt it can take high temps.

Most likely if you get any damage it will be from long exposure of heat over long periods of time and through many heat cycles.
