Default doing nitrous again... have some questions

ok here it is , i'm going with nitrous again on my latest s2k. its a NOS brand fogger system. my last nitrous s2k put down some decent numbers on the bottle. but i never ran more than a 75 shot. i have invidia exhaust and a spoon snokel intake with modified air box. i have a bottle heater, msd window switch, and purge kit with the system.

my questions are these:

i know i need colder plugs so, which spark plugs would go well with me wanting to go with 100 shot and why?

am i not thinking of something that would be needed in running a higher shot than 75?

my last n02 s2k had the same exhaust but different cai... it had a a/f ratio of 10 or below when on the bottle from 6200 to 8700 rpm.

any suggestions would be great... thanks

I would go with NGK 7173.(heat grade 8)
Usually it is recommanded to use 1 step colder every 100hp increase.

I would also get progressive shot if you are going anything more than 75.

+1 on the progressive shot if you can... but i would recommend 2 steps colder... ON the zex they recommend 1step colder for a 65 shot and 2steps for a 75. Not an expert on this, just going by manufacturer recomendations. Good luck.. I'm always weary about bigger shots like a 100, i would do a direct port setup if i was in your situation.. But good luck though, and take lots of vids!

fill me in on progressive shot.... is this an item to purchase or the order/process of which the nitrous is dispersed.... i know there have been other members who have been using 100 shots on there s2k.... direct port is def. something i will do in the future. but that requires finding either a monifold that has already been drilled out or doing it myself. keep in mind that i only drive the car like 50 miles a week if that. and i don't come acrossed much that can keep up with me in my area, so i won't be using this nitrous much. mostly for insurance and for dyno purposes.

I have never used this before but i would defnitely use it if i was to ever go to a 100 shot. Basically you spray a smaller shot at first, then the 2nd stage would be a larger shot. spraying 100shot instantly would be alot of stress on the motor...whether the engine could handle it, probably, but why risk it? besides, 100hp instantly is alot of power anyways.. would probably render your first gear useless... so maybe use like a 65 shot for the first coople of seconds, then spray all the way to 100shot.. (once you're into higher gears..) Here's a link to one of those controllers.. http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Pages/MC_Progressive.htm

how does this work with a single nozzle fogger system when you have set sizes on the jets?

dont quote me on this, but i believe you set it for a 100shot pill, then the controller pulses your solenoid.. (turns it on n off really fast)... it leaves it completely open for a 100 shot, for anything less, it pulses the solenoid..

i will do some research, but it could only work if it controlled the solenoid like you said...... i'll take a look. so any concrete spark plugs recomendations?

also, what are the gapping specs when running nitrous on a rare occassion? i've heard gap higher when your not running nitrous or F/I... but then gap smaller for F/I or nitrous... but 95% of the time i'm not going to be on the bottle...

thanks for any help!

I may be selling my manifold plumbed for direct port and the accompanying hardlines late this summer. Glad to see you have a 1st gen ecu- they run a little richer than later models.
