downpipe thru hood really bad?
My buddy Jakebone on here ran it on his 800whp setup. I rode shotgun it in once and I knew I'd never go that route. Too loud and windshield is always nasty...but shooting flames out of it was pretty cool. LOL

I had a hood exit downpipe/dumptube setup on my second S2000; I didn't like the fact that the exhaust would dump soot on cold starts, so I switched to a traditional downpipe shortly thereafter:

On my third S2000, I only ran the dumptubes through the hood (these were actually Jake's//hatchbones old components (manifold, downpipe, dumptubes)):

Didn't get hassled by LEOs with either setup, but ymmv

Having the dumptube(s) coming out of the hood is easy to live with. The only noise (and a fantastic one at that) is emitted when you have reached your target boost and the wastegate opens. Shooting flames up in to the night air is pretty cool as well, especially if you want to make it clear to someone that you were upset when they cut you off
