Got 280rwhp 183 tq. I have a UR kit with a Spugen dual titanium exhaust and AEM EMS. The tuner guy thought that maybe the 2.5" exhaust was restricting me, not to mention the stock cat. So I guess I need a J's 70rr. Damn .
Also saw a 731hp turbo b18 hatchback and a 1000hp(potentially) Supra with a T-88H I think. He put down 740.
My Dyno graph:
Just kidding. That was me running on the dyno. I told the guy I needed a little headwork. Ha!
My real graph w/perfect a/f:
This is how you prevent tire-slippage on a 730 hp civic :
I've run the most serious restriction (factory exhaust) while making significantly greater power. A larger exhaust might release a few ponys but don't be supprised if it's less that you want.
OK, I'm sitting here and all I can do is shake my head. Yes, exhasut size helps a turbo spool higher and faster...but it doesn't make it give you more power. Now I'm not saying that a larger piping will not help the performace of the car, but what I am saying is that if you are not getting the numbers out of a turbo kit that you think you should...the exhaust isn't the first place to look. I mean you are only putting out what 7-8psi? Do you really think that a 3 inch exhaust is going to make that big of a differance? Not really. When you start talking about 15-20 psi, then yes, a 3" exhaust over a 2.5 will make a differance, but most of that will be in the time it takes to spool.
My buddy with a SOHC B16 @ 8psi gained 20 whp just by switching to a 3" exhaust. We removed the filter on my dyno run and it didnt change the power. It was 90 degrees and humid as hell but that's not enough to make that much of a difference. Regardless, with 280 whp this car is greasy fast. I love it. No complaints at all, just wonsdering how Ultimate Racing got 319 with an Emanage and Im running EMS.
Scorpion,
the turbo cannot even get to 7 psi because the engine can only take in as much air as it can expel. Therefore the 2.5" exhaust is decreasing my power because the turbi cant get past 5.5psi.
