Dyno'd Today
I first dyno'ed my S with the UR turbo kit and factory exhaust. I got around 270 Whp and I think torque was around 192. Then I purchased the UR 3" dual exhaust and 3" high flow cat. Now I have 287 Whp and 198 on torque. Runs and tuning were on a Mustang dyno where as if it were on a Dynojet, Hp and TQ would have been quite a bit higher. Also, I am still using the E-manage and it's tuned very conservatively at around 11.5:1 A/F.

Scorpion,
the turbo cannot even get to 7 psi because the engine can only take in as much air as it can expel. Therefore the 2.5" exhaust is decreasing my power because the turbi cant get past 5.5psi.

My car on the same dyno made 295. (Stock boost vortech/toda/test pipe/mugen exhaust) I don't think the exhaust is the problem. As a guess, My intake air temps where most likely lower than your turbo car.
The other variable is how conservative the tuning is. The tuner may not be running lots of ignition advance in interest of the engine's health.
Did you ask for a Conservative tune? Or did he set the engine on "kill"?

Well he set my a/f to about 11.5 as flat as Ive seen, but my pics arent working so you cant see my dyno. Anyways, it was about 90 degrees and humid which explains a little, but the weird thing was the hp dip if we lowered vtec below 6000. Also, I dont think I ever got past 5.5-6 psi. I was just curious cuz the UR website has a 320whp 204tq dyno graph. I know all dynos are different so I guess it's okay. Regardless, the car is a beast to drive and Im enjoying the hell out of my first turbocharged car!
I'm a bit curious as to why you are only getting 5.5-6psi. When I had the HKS exhaust I still hit the advertised 7.5 psi. After switching to the 3" downpipe, 3" high flow cat, 3" exhaust... the psi upped to 10.
You should find out how much timing your tuner set your car at.
I know you got the kit used, so perhaps the previous owner swapped in a different wastegate spring?
Feel free to PM me with any questions regarding the kit... I've been through a few ups and downs already.

I saw that on their site, but I didnt get close. He said that he had done the timing and ignition stuff as much as he could without it knocking. He is an excellent tuner and I am sure he got all he could out of the kit. Also, I originally bought a used kit, but then I bought a new turbo, wastegate, downpipe. I kept the IC piping and other stuff from the used kit. The car is so much fun to drive, I could really care less about the numbers right now. Thanks for y'alls help.

Well, an additional 80 WHP from 5 lbs. is a good day. The car was bleeding boost at the waste gate flange as the dump tube was apparently contacting the downpipe and vibrating it loose. No one caught it until later and I wasn't able to make the dyno day to keep an eye on things. it will make more. The wastegate is in constant tension due to the design pressing up on itself so it doesn't take much to come loose apparently. Nothing some loctite won't fix at any rate. The tune is not soft but on the conservative side. 100 degree humid as all hell Georgia summer days, shitty air density, high compression, high boost....do the math. We'll push the limits with a motor set up for it, not blow a perfectly good one for the bragging rights.
This is his daily, down time results in car rental bills that cost more than some of the mods themselves. When I design a project customer satisfaction carries much farther than Hp numbers... budget, goals, intention of project are first with a long talk of consequences and thier price tag next. Most guys double thier budgets not considering the details and buyer remorse should always be in the back of a business owners mind as he leads his customer down that trail.
This one has to last a little while while we design the new setup and Jonathan's wallet recovers from the recent shock of his spending spree
. Sure we could have taken the head off and gone with a thicker gasket and more boost yadda yadda...that turbo is just warming up and almost over kill for a kit designed around 7-8lbs. But with a sleeved forged 4-500 hp setup coming in the future why waste the money now for a short term thrill? That extra money needs to go to the drivetrain first. Hope your having fun J, sorry I haven't been in touch. They're working me like a 2 dollar whore these past few weeks.
send me those video's....

I actually was thinking that the wastegate leak would be the problem. One of my wastegate bolts actually came completely off. With just one bolt holding it on I would only hit 3psi.
Glad it's fixed now. Double and triple check the wastegate bolts every so often. The more often the better. The vibrations tend to get those bolts off quick and often. Eventually the loctite (even red) will burn out... so keep an eye on it. I know from experience
