Is the ECU kit for kraftwerks supercharger for ap1 pretuned?
Is the ECU kit for kraftwerks supercharger for ap1 pretuned?
I just installed my supercharger w/o the tuning solution from kraftwerks. I bought the kit two years ago and lived close to a tuner but now I don't.
So I was wondering if the AEM ecu that kraftwerks provide is a pretuned map ?

Firstly, It's a base file so the accuracy of the VE (Infinity) or Injector PulseWidth (AEM V2) for your specific vehicle will be off. By how much? No one knows but it could be off enough to foul plugs or to run dangerously lean.
Secondly, in AEM Infinity I can tell you right off the bat that although base file, the correct sensor data in the ECU Wizard (coolant, map and AIT) are straight up missing when they should have been preconfigured. You have to make sure you simply re-select them from the drop downs.
Thirdly, you wont know if knock protection is on or knock frequency is correctly set. If both are set correctly, then you still need to do additional testing to verify that base map .40 knock noise floor isn’t set too high or too low. Each car can be different.
Finally AEM is pretty good with preset ignition offset, however, you still need to lock your timing and verify with the timing light at idle. Then you rev your engine and confirm that timing does not deviate. If you don't do any of that the base file can command 25 degrees for example at WOT but you're at 32 degrees.. Ouch.
