Default EGT sensor on AEM

After my most recent turbo rebuild I decided it might be wise to check my Exhaust Gas Temperature.

I purchased an AEM 30-2050 Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) Sensor Kit.

Installation was a bit difficult. There is no room for it on the turbo manifold before the turbo where it's meant to go. I had to install it just downstream of the turbo in the downpipe.

You can see it behind the turbo beanie.

I then went to wire it into the AEM EMS. The instructions that come with it say that polarity is not important and on the 30-1012 to connect it to +5V and one of the available EGT input channels. I chose A5 (EGT #1) and B7 (FM, +/-5V). And now that I read that I think I might see the problem. What does +/-5V mean? What does FM mean?

Where can I get 5V power on the AEM ECU? There are plenty of +5V Sensor connectors but they are all dedicated for various sensors.

I know this has nothing to do with your question but is the EGT probe a K type. If it is, it is polarity sensitive and if its hooked up backwards, the reading will be off.

What manifold are you using?

Hi, perhaps quoting the entire first message was a mistake when your question consisted of only one line?

It is the LoveFab Minime V1 manifold.

According to the documentation it is an RTD Style EGT Sensor.

Sensor Element: Platinum sensor in thin film technology.

I dont have any experience with those sensors so maybe they arent polarity sensitive. I'm more familiar with K type sensors. You'll probably be fine then and if they said it didnt matter about the polarity then I assume they know best.

Ok, I'll try one of the Sensor +5V.

Next question, Greddy Oil Pressure sender. I have one plugged in and it has three wires: Red, Black and White. I assume Black is ground and white is signal. Anyone know if Red is +12v or +5V? Any one have calibration figures for the Greddy oil pressure sender?

Sensor +5V worked! I can now read the EGT value in the AEM software.

The gauge is a little harder but I'm working on it.
