Default Emanage Experts......

I have an SC kit tuned with emanage. I run a basemap made for my kit and all is well EXCEPT that it runs pig richs to the point of being sluggish and and occasional sputter under heavy boost with the AC on. This is not much of a problem because I hardly EVER use the AC, but since I am going in for a tune I would like to get it sorted out while on the dyno.

Somebody mentioned to me that there was an adjustment for fuel enrichment when the ac is running. I looked in the emanage software but could not find it. My tuner is a highly reputable guy but is not a big expert with Emanage. He is, however, the best I can find locally and I am just having him tune for knock threshold and hopefully fix this issue if I can find out how it is done.

Anyone familiar with a setting for fueling with AC engaged?

Thanks.

I do not know of such a map, and I consider myself pretty well-versed on the Emanage.

The only difference is actual load on the car obviously its more now the AC is on and it saps a small amount of power.

I agree with Brad, and as far as a trigger i cant think of one. And i dont think coolant would do either.

Sounds possible but I don't know if I've seen it in the software either. Have you read through the manual to see what the various settings do? It might not be labeled in an obvious manner.

Never heard of this either. I'd be inclined to think that if your rich enough to have the car miss just from the added load of the AC, that your running too rich even without it. I'd get your afr tune addressed. You should generally be in the upper 11's in WOT from vtec on.

Yeah I am starting to think there is no such adjustment. I will have to watch AFR's again but upper low 12's to upper 11's is where I am according to my wideband, but my tips are real black. When the AC is on and I hit WOT in full boost it goes 10's and stumbles. Especially when it is real hot and muggy outside.

10's is too rich. There is a separate ignition and afr map specific for IAT and also water temp, which allows the Emanage to automatically make corrections (like removing fuel) when a target IAT or coolant temp is present. This in theory will prevent you from going too rich when your car is heat soaked from too high an AIT, keeping the afr more consistent in any temp. You can also set up the map to reduce timing to help with any potential knock from too high an IAT as well. I would consider incorporating this/these maps into your tune. Just locate them on the map tree and select them into your tune and configure them to the amount you or your tuner feels is best. For example, you can set up the AIT map to start cutting -1 fuel from your current fuel map, or however much fuel you want at what ever AIT temp you want. I set mine to start cutting -2 fuel at about 145F and more fuel as it gets hotter. When the car is hot it always runs richer so you just have to figure out how much and compensate in the AIT map.

I would look at your battery voltage as well with AC on versus off. If the voltage changes enough it will do some funky things to your fuel pump effectiveness and injector lag time.

So in other words, maybe it's not Emanage-related at all.
