the unit powers up fine and the car starts but the problem is the interaction light stays on even without the cable in.then when i put the cable in i connects for about 3 seconds then goes offline then connects for 3 ect.i checked the jumpers and they were set correctly.btw i have the boomslang pnp harness

 

btw i was able to update the unit,getting to the option and selceting it within 3 seconds and it updated.for some reason it wont stay connected but while updating it does

what type of laptop/ software


I have not had this issue with the ULT

however have had something similar with haltech


Plug in an AC wall adapter and see if that fixes the problem.


What was happing on the Haltech is it was trying to pull about 1.5 extra volts thought the USB port causing the laptop to shut the USB ports down.

When an AC adapter was used the haltech would do the same thing but with the extra power the adapter provided the USB would not shut down and everything would run fine.

it seems that the light yellow is constant until i turn the car on then it turns on then off slowly.im wondering if its a bad ground connection.

 

well i tried the laptop plugged in and i tryed pluging the unit in with direct power and ground and its still doping the same thing.i pmed the guy i got it from let you guys know how it turns out.

 

I had this problem when I had flashed the firmware on the EMU to the newest revision, then tried to connect with the non-updated software on another laptop.

Find the newest software version and try that.
