alot of good info in there thank you. I think im going to run the Mahle pistons that way i dont have to sleeve the block. Is anyone runnign Mahle pistons and can give me some feedback on them. Also should i still run the Brian Crower rods with them?

if your going mahle, bores need to be checked for roundness and walls honed. if it was me, just sleeve it and be done with it.

i went through this same exact predicament and I chose to sleeve my block, and went all out with my build.

yea it sucks, but the best/safest way to do it is just to sleeve it, and it only costs a little more if you are doing all this crap anyway

a sleeved block will run about 1000 more than using mahle pistons.

I have done some more digging and found that the honing process has been simplified greatly by hone mfr's and no longer requires the use of manual hones or special stones... any machine shop can hone these in a standard diamond hone machine.
