Default Engine Build up progression

I'm curious to see what you guys would do first when build an FI engine. As your horsepower grows. Would you go gasket first then piston and so on? Consider it a gradual progression in hp not "i want 600hp now."

I'm trying to guage the importance of things. I had my mechanic try to sell me head studs I really don't think i need.

I've been there plenty, and I'm there right now, I just thought other opinions would be nice instead of one omnipotent source

Naw all I want is about 350hp, it's for auto-x not drag racing, some guys tempt 400hp with no internal mods so I was wondering what to do for pieece of mind.
