Engine wire harness connection clips breaking?
Hey guys so im going turbo again installing by Pfab kit and ran into an issue which im not quite sure what to do next. My fuel injector connectors and my connections for the coils seem to break the clips, only leaving one or no clip to grab down. as for the fuel injectors i was thinking of cutting the connector and wire it together or maybe a small tie strap to hold it down tightly. Also had buying a new engine wire harness in mind. What you guys think? has this happen to any of you before, what did you do ?
No tool needed you can take the pins out of your broken connectors with a pick and just replace them with the new connectors you won't need the pins it comes with. For your injectors just buy some that come with new connectors and swap them.
This is is caused by the increase in under hood temps from being FI. The whole wiring harness gets brittle, and the coil and injector clips being right on top of the motor and usually thr most that get fussed with, will usually break first. After splicing/repairing these and continuing to have intermittent issues, I finally bit the bullet and replaced the entire engine harness in the car. It was not cheap, nor fun to do. But am glad I did it now that its done.
