Ever seen a Ford 8.8 diff break like this?

Default Ever seen a Ford 8.8 diff break like this?

So in my previous post I thought my stock diff mounts broke because the diff sat low and the axle bolts dug into my subframe. Today I went to install the Hasport diff mounts and discovered I was wrong and found out why my diff was sitting low. The front mounting tabs broke completely off causing the diff to drop. Has anyone seen anything like this with the aluminum 8.8 casings? When I first installed this, the angle of the diff was a little off and I had to compensate with spacers but there must have been some stress on them. I still blame the stock diff mounts for letting the diff move around a lot along with the small amount of stress to the tabs when fully bolted up. I run the car at 670whp/450tq. The car has wheel hopped roughly 5-7 times and only has 2000 miles on it. Stock suspension.

Mickey thompson 255/50/16.

It didn't break during a wheel hop. It was mid pull.

I've been wondering when we'd see a failure like this. The way that kit mounts it puts a severe twisting force there which that part of the case is not designed for.

We've got something in the works to prevent this sort of failure that will be available in a month or so, we are still testing the final design. It is designed specifically to prevent this type of failure. It's simply a flawed design, nothing to do with your bushings.

They recommend it because it's stronger but the aluminum ones will work as well.

Using a steel housing would end up with the bolts broken or the housing bent. Still doesnt fix the issue

Icic. Just curious the kit from fullblown calls for a 94 thunderbird supercoupe. What else does it come from?

Again... Full blown says right on their site "must use a 89-94 thunderbird supercoupe diff only" sure things like this are part of the reason why they say that . I'd get a steel case like recommended and swap the guts over
