Default Exhaust flanges rub against firewall

Hello everyone,

First off, I have an 07 s2000 that I've recently installed a revhard turbo kit. The downpipe was the one supplied with the kit however it positions my exhaust flanges and cat to rub against the transmission tunnel causing really loud droning and buzzing at around 4000 rpm. The cat when I had it with the downpipe actually rubbed against the bracket underneath the transmission.

It's the weirdest thing as the previous owner with the same set up had no issues at all on an ap1. My guess is that the frame layout is different around the transmission tunnel area on 06+? Really curious about this - wondering if the N/A guys have the same issue when putting on a manifold for an ap1 on 06+ - is the section that meets the cat pointed ever so slightly at a different angle.

Anyone with any suggestions? I'm thinking about denting in the firewall - let me know if this is the way to go, or perhaps just bringing the car to an exhaust shop and having the downpipe cut, repositioned and welded. If anyone has a clue on the frame layout as well - please let me know.
THanks in advance as usual guys

I'm pretty sure the 06+ frame is slightly different - there is an added hump next to one of the seat bolts - hence why cusco roll cages need to be modified in order to fit in 06+, and 06+ seats don't bolt in directly in 00-05 vice versa. I really want to get to the bottom of this. Does anyone knowo for sure has any diagrams or ran into a similar issue?
