Default exhaust leak

I am Comptech supercharged and previously dynoed at 330rwhp @ 10lbs of boost, Since then i Put on a Toda Header and Amuse R1000 exhaust. I used the old gasket when i changed the header and it turns out that i have a leak. When I dynoed this time I got 300rwhp @ 7lbs of boost. I dropped 3lbs of boost and 30whp and never changed the pulley. Could the leak at the madifold have coused me to loose boost? i ordered a new gasket and will be installing it this weekend. Hopefully this will fix the leak.

I might be wrong but an exhaust leak shouldn't affect boost. Maybe you need to re-tighten the belt.

The belt is tight. I have no clue what might have happened. I did get lower compression pistons but my mechanic that got them and installed them said he only lowered my compression by .5 so i doubt i would loose that much boost from that. Unless he got lower compression ones than he thought.

the exhaust leak wouldnt kill power like that on a s/c car. turbo car yes. It sounds like you lost power due to the compression change in the pistons. time for more boost esp now with the lower comp. pistons.

Bingo. Yeah sounds like its time for a 3" pulley kind of a big coincidence don't you think? Your mechanic may have put in the wrong compression pistons. Either way I would take advantage.

When was the last time you cleaned your air filter? A friend of mine was down on power (and boost) the last time he dyno'd and they tracked it down to a super dirty airfilter.

Yeah the air filter robbed me of some power once before. I just ordered a K&N one this week so ill change it. When i dynoed with the dirty filter it robbed me of 10hp, my tuner took it off and it made a difference. For some reason my filter always gets dirty, maybe cuz its the foam comptech one. we will see what happens with the K&N one. Yes its definately time for more boost. 3" is on the way i just need to do some more reaserch and see wether i should get the comptech A/C or something else. Everything else is pretty much set to go. I even had the block sleeved with steel.
