Default Exhaust mufflers with turbo application

Because I will be going 3" w/ my setup and dual mufflers (Yes it's pure aesthetics but I like the dual muffler look) has anybody out there tried any mufflers like Dynomax, Borla, or Magnaflow or any other mufflers that sound decent?

Reason im asking is because originally my intentions were to go w/ either Apex muffler or HKS but when you get the inlet at 3" the damn tip is soooo huge which I hate. And having 2 damn cans w/ such big tips is just not my thing.

So because of that and because of the price of getting 2 mufflers I was thinking of either going w/ a chambered muffler like flowmasters or something.

The other problem I have is I do not know what any of these mufflers sound like. Don't wanna spend the money having them custom weld it and not like it afterwards.

I'm looking for a set of mufflers that do not sound like I'm driving a lawn mower. I want something agressive that sounds good at idle and WOT but do not want to be heard 20 blocks away either.

Basics of my hopeful setup is: 3" w/ no cat w/ dual mufflers.
Any input?

Well how much power are you looking for? I'm running duel 3" inlet magnaflows which are rated at around 500hp a piece (1000hp for the pair). I'm actualy going to chang them out for a pair of 2.5" inlet Dynomax, which flow enough for around 500hp total, the Magnaflows are just too loud for me. Remember, you don't have to run 3" after the split, two 2.5" will flow more than one 3" muffler of the same type.

The Flowmasters I've heard on several Hondas sound awful. They sound just right on a V8, but the chambered muffler doesn't compliment an inline 4's sound.

The Magnaflow and Borla mufflers have a deeper tone, and the turbo functions pretty good as a muffler as well.

We'll I want them to be able to handle up to at least 500-550. Most likely I would I would not even be near those figures as a daily driver but you never know what the future brings...

but yeah after the split I had either 2.5 or 3" in mind, whatever is easier to build and has more clearance under the car.

but at the same time I wasn't sure about 2.5 after the split because of the turbo and muffler flow charactersistics if that would be too restrictive.

But since you are saying mangaflow are rated up to 500 hp then that should be good. Now, the only thing you are saying that they are too loud.

If you had some sound clips that would help me out a lot.

And Slows2k, have you actually heard the Flows on a S2000?

I've heard Flowmasters on NA and a JRSC B18 powered Civics. As well as many other NA Accords, Preludes, Integras, too many to list. It's just not my favorite sound on a Honda.

BTW, I've got a Mugen exhaust which sounds just right to me.

Pipe Dia" of which exhaust?

I don't have sound clips of any, but the Mugen is only slightly louder than stock.
