Default Experienced SC tuners or...

I'm currently at 8 psi on a CTSC with stock injectors and a VAFC2. It works decent but my fuel pressure is jacked up the yingyang and I am on a budget. Recently stumbled on to a used E-manage blue for an affordable price and was looking for some feedback on experienced users with this piggy back unit on what its weaknesses are. My goal is to have a healthy running 10-12 psi motor between 350-375whp on stock internals. What i'm looking for is if this unit provides enough timing control and fuel adjustment to perform its function reliably and at what level of performance output range. I am looking for the best alternative to a stand alone ecu and am hoping this unit will do the trick. I am looking to run the smallest injectors to achieve my hp goals. 440cc? 550cc?

Thanks for any input

AEM will give you greater tuning capability, which will be really helpful at those boost levels. AEM or KPro should be your EMS options for that level of boost. I get skeptical of piggy-back EMS systems at the extreme values.

If you can find an E-manage whiz, go with it. First, find your tuner. Then find what he likes to work with. The best EMS is worthless unless you can tune it.

And I would say 650cc injectors minimum. I would go with 750's so your duty cycles would not be too high (plus headroom for more).

VAFCII is scary for FI, man... I have read that is ridiculously inaccurate (someone on here had documented their's was pulling fuel when it said it was adding fuel), especially when making LARGE corrections.

Im sorry, i have to be a asshole.
dude.. your an idiot.

8 psi, stock injectors, and VAFC?
are you serious? your trying to blow your car up arent you?

grow a wallet, buy injectors, management, and a 10 psi pulley. now youll be OK. till then, i would literally park the car.

Again, sorry i cant be nice when i see stupid shit like this.

Sure you can be an asshole if you want, but the idiot comment might be a bit over the top.

Yeah 8psi, My afr's are not too lean so tell me how i'm going to pop my motor? I am monitoring my shit because i'm the guy tuning it. I've got about 12,000 hard miles on this set up, just changed my plugs a few weeks ago and they look great, no signs of leaning or detonation. Be a dick if you must but before you recommenced for someone to spend $2500+ additional worth of mods because that is the limit of your experience and understanding then don't chime in. I have specific questions about the E-manage Blue, if you don't know the answers then you can shut your pie hole and wait for the next thread where you might have some good information to add. How does that sound

I say your... LUCKY.
emanage blue....junk
vafc...junk.

SO my recommendation comes to you, from the POV of quality management with safety of your toys in mind.
I have a rediculous list of cars ive built, i have an uber tuner who is a good friend, and not one of the engines or cars ive built in the last 15 years has ever blown up. and theyve all mysteriously made more power than everyone else with same stuff.
SO, im just trying to help you out, by being blunt. take it as you will.
I dont know anything though, so my input is worthless...

Besides being a piggy back unit, why does that make the E-manage blue junk? What is your experience with this unit? I want a unit that is easy and not time consuming to tune and does what it is suppose to which is adjust timing if need be and a adjust for proper afr conditions with conservative to moderate injectors. I do not want to depend on a tuner to start from scratch with all of the factory Honda system controls by using a stand alone. I want to retain as many of the stock ecu system controls as possible. I consider this not only more affordable but more reliable, I still also have to take emission testing. To me a piggy back is the only way, so again my question is what are the limitations of the E-manage Blue specifically?
My problem with all the low budget junk boxes, are the rate at which they process. they are so slow your calculator is faster. so when you have a quick ramping car like an s2k, with high compression, and high rpm capable, you have to be careful, or shall i say, spot on with your tune.
IF something gets a bit haywire, and your tune is rough, your motor is the one in pain.
They have no safety in them at all, they rely all on you, which, unless your a serious tuner, you shouldnt have such an open ended setup. your even more likely to damage stuff.
Back to how slow they are, the stock ecu is already doing what it can, and handles the engine OK. now you throw all these new variables at it, and its limited as to what it can do...(read hondata).
Now, you take your stock ecu, and cut and paste some wires, and add an even slower box on there, in hopes it will correctly control timing, and fuel curves, so you can be boosted which causes things to get hairy even faster. you now have 2 boxes trying to work together, yet they cant even talk to each other.
You think you have it all down great, and then one nite when the baro is wrong, and you have a batch of crappy fuel, you do 3 back to back runs, and your cheese box doesnt watch IAT, so it has no idea your in the red zone, on the next pull, you have the same timing you have every other time, and BOOM. its over. why did i break a ring land, why did i melt an exhaust valve... all due to crappy management.
If you spend that much cash on your bad ass car, wouldnt you want a box thats AT LEAST as capable as the stock ecu (aem ems) or better (Fcon, motec).
piggy back to me, refers to all these boxes that tap in, if you have a harness, that accepts signals, and can send signals, and modify them, and adjust them at a faster rate, while the stock ecu is doing its job, i dont say piggy back anymore. that word= slow to me. To me, Fcon is a master controller. motec does its own thing, and so does AEM ems.
whew. thats my tiny 2 cents. i could go on forever about this.
Im still taking a close look at UEM, as ive seen it on a few cars, and it doesnt seem too bad, but the big dogs i know who tune it, dont favor it. i know church has made some solid numbers on UEM, so i give it a nod at this point. but i wont advise any of my clients to run it. thats a whole other discusson (UEM). later dave

its that there have been many motors that have been blown due to carelessness and people not opening up there wallet to a FI s2000. If you want boost its gonna cost $$$ if you want more power its gonna cost x2 $$$$ costs money to play. Especially if you want a reliable quick s2k. OR if your just a SUPER tuner and Really REALLY good at it, then whatever your fine. theres a guy with 125k miles on his s2k with over 600whp hahah.
