Default F/I and Traction Control

First off, i did a search bur couldnt find some good results

Im running a ap1 with a mild but very quick spooling turbo setup:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/102...h-turbo-build/

370whp gtx3071r

I do have serious traction issues in 2nd gear and occasionally in 3th gear. My rear end wants to do a 180 alot.
Im planning on upping the boost towards 400/450whp but the traction issue is getting on my nerves.
I still gonna do boost by gear but on somewhat colder days i would like to have some more "protection" from a TC.

I hear good things about the Racelogic but its really expensive.
I noticed the aem always had a TC feature, but was not so good as the racelogic. Im wondering if the TC feature in the series 2 has been updated and im curious if someone has this working properly on his ap1. Since i already own the series 2, this would be a great cost saver over the racelogic.

Who can chime in?

What tires do you have? You shouldn't be having that big of traction issues at that power level with a decent tire under the car

K pro works the best for our cars.

race logic makes a stand alone system that works well too but I heard it was $1000.

Im running 245 direzza star specs in the rear. No issues on a warm dry, sunny days but here in the netherlands the temps are overall quite low so i need to be carefull hitting the throttle on colder days, but i still would like to use the aem's series 2 TC feature to have some more safety. Especially in the wet.

Sounds like you need a better all season tire, and stay away from extreme summer only tires. I would limit the boost in 1st and 2nd gear to max of 8-10psi and then full boost in the upper gears like you mentioned.

A cooder weather tire may help.

What ecu are you running? I have kpro with the hondata traction control system. It works VERY well. Id be happy to share the calibration file if you go this route.

Like mentioned, i got the aem series 2 and it will be way too much costs to switch to a new ecu and a new tune, so the question is, how does the TC feature of the series 2 perform and has anyone here succesfully used it?

I could switch to some other tires but im sure the engine power will always win in wet/moisty conditions so a TC will be more safe to have. thanks for the replys so far guys!

Not wanting to jack the tread but I'm also in for any info on this..

I am currently making the leap from a Garett TR30R MASE set up to a GTX3576R Sheepey mani 320whp > 550whp (estimated).

I'm also on a AP1 with a series 2 AEM EMS.

I have AD048R 255s at the rear which is pretty much the best tire I can run but fear that similar weather conditions in the UK to Netherlands I will soon be looking for some kind of TC also..

How does the EMS TC feature work?

Also @ OP, where about's in Netherlands are you? I happen to be over visiting Den Haag at the moment. Nice city but not many roads to unleash a boosted S :-)

I would consider a call to the aem technical phone line. They are extremely helpful and will most likely answer your questions better than us forum guys.
