Confirmed by Inline pro, all that is different is the crank.

So if there ARE benefits to fitting an F22 head on an F20 block.. what are they?

WRONG, BUT if you want to think that go ahead and try to put the ap1 pistons and rods on an ap2 crank

I was told that it would be best to put the AP1 head on the AP2 block.

Heads are the same

only difference is lift and duration on the cams and the springs and retainers.

Blocks are the same, internals are not.

Storke is different change the crank, rods and pistons

The F22C's bores are the same dimension as the F20C. The displacement change is due to the longer stroke crank. Rod length and piston height are different between the 2 engines. Displacement is changed by 2 dimensions, bore and stroke. Rod length does not change displacement.

If you take the rods, pistons and crank from a F22C and put it in a F20C block it's now a 2.2L

If you take a F20C rods, pistons and crank and put them in a F22C block it's now a 2.0L Irregardless of what is stamped on the outside.

So if someone decided to put an F22 crank/rods/pistons in the F20 to make it a 2.2 would the rev have to come down to 8K or is it still safe to do the 9K rev with the f20 head?

It would be an F22. A safe redline would be the same as a factory built F22.
