Thanks for the replies. Looking at this and doing a bit of research, looks like I may just have to consider the A-Pillar pods if I want the Defi link system - 2 gauges and the Defi Link Display (maybe in radio door?)...I'm not going to implement an AEM EMS for a few years (if ever) so the AEM Serial is not an option.

I'm looking for gauges because I plan to continue to track this car and want to be able to monitor the engine more closely now that I have the SC installed. For those with the A-Pillar pod, how obtrusive do you find it in your vision (annoying?) - or did you find you got used to it immediately?

You will find yourself moving your head more before making a left hand turn at an intersection. You'll get used to it.

Maybe it depends on how you sit in your seat or your height, but i've never found my gauge pod to get the way while driving.

No problems seeing either.

Does the AEM serial gauge replace my existing UEGO gauge?

I just got a wideband kit from Innovate Motorsports and was planning on mounting the low profile XD-16 gauge in my radio door, but the bezel is too thick, so I'm going to mount it somewhere else (don't know where yet). I've got a SOS A-pillar pod for the car that I've test fitted without the gauges in there yet and it really doesn't obstruct your view any more than the A-pillar does normally.

Here's some pics of the Innovative gauge:

I don't understand. How did the thick bezel affect not being able to mount it in the radio door... like what is the issue? Any info you can share on this would be great as I was thinking along the same line. Thanks.

Well, I don't like the way it lays open when the gauge is installed. That's an AP1 and it looks like the console is lower than the AP2 console is giving the gauge more room to fall. I may buy a spare door and try it, but I think I found a better place. Of course I could get used to keeping the door closed all the time.

I like the Defi gauges. I was a bit skeptical about the a-pillar setup; though now that I've had it on the car for a few years I can't imagine mounting them anywhere else. The line of sight visibility while on the track is excellent. Does not obstruct my view at all.

Another option to consider ... a route I probably would have taken had it been available ... is the Defi heads up display. Gets rid of the a-pillar gauges and provides excellent line of sight visibility for speed, RPMs, gauge info and warning lights.

I mounted the link/control box under the dash on the left side.
