Default Ferrea Valve Spring/Cam Input

Looking for a little input here. I have read threads and done some research.

I am currently building a f20c for boost. My head consist of ferrea dual valve springs, retainers, and comp plus valves.

From my understanding the ferrea valve spring specs are 80lb seat pressure and max lift 12.50mm. I was looking into cower stage 2 cams which the max lift is 12.5 and 13.0. Now stock f20 cams are 12.65/11.66 and f22 12.37/12.06.

Am I limited to only run f22 cams safely?

I'm a little uneducated on this detail and just looking for some input from people with more knowledge.

Thanks for any input.

From what little I've read, you can make TONS of power very well on stock cams. There are many 600+hp builds still using OEM cams.

Not sure if this is what you were looking to read, but maybe it'll save you some money in the long run.

I wouldn't pay to much attebtion to the ferrea max lift recommendation. With whatever cam you choose you will have no issue having the ferreas keep the valves in check. Especially in a turbo application. Now if you do some .600" lift all motor spec cam then I would question it. But go for the BC turbo stage 2's. Don't listen to people. It's proven the turbo s2's make great power over stock. The data is just not well published so guys still think no aftermarket cams make power over stock.

Good luck with your build!

Thanks guys. I assembled the engine with my stock f20 cams. Debated on bc stage 2 but after reading a lot of negative reviews as far as loud head noise and rockers shattering and I got scared lol

not a bad call. from what i've seen here, more than a few people use AP1 intake cam and AP2 exhaust cam. i believe the ap1 intake cam is more aggressive than ap2, and i don't know about the exhaust side
