Default Toda Valve springs on Stock Cams

Just looking for a feeler on this one. Toda valve springs on stock cams. Would they be too aggressive and dig in from the stiffer spring or would I be safe with this? Benefits or drawbacks to doing this?

It'd be tough to think of a reason this would improve anything. It might (*might*) raise your redline, but that's the only advantage I could come up with. It could just as well lower it. And how would you know one way or the other.

well the only reason for me purchasing them would be the car is usually tracked and would maintain high rpm driving, I would imagine it would have helped prevent valve floating, and raise the redline so the stock redline would be all that much safer to hit consistantly.

Any idea what the effect of making the valves harder to open will be? Maybe some form of increased valve train wear? Of course this is what you're asking right...

Well definalty I agree it would increase the rate of wear. This is in part my question. Exactly, or approximatly how excelerated would the wear be and to what extend would the wear carry out. Exactly what im asking for (not to do.. but to answer )

I don't remember if those are titanium or not. If they are you're going to have to adjust your valves more often. That's all I can think of.

Don't forget to upgrade the retainers....weakest part of F20 engine.

hmmmm... i was told by AJ just to use the stock retainers ad the titanium ones would wear out faster...

well ok good point... but still need the original question answered...
is this mod purposeful or useless? Will it dig in from the increased firmness of the spring compressing at a stronger/faster rate than the stock one?

Seems like a stupid and pointless thing to spend money on to me...

If you want to continually beat your engine, save your money so you can buy a new one when you blow the one you have To be fast on a track all you need is good lines, suspension and tires!!!!

Spend the money on some more track days and become a better driver. That will help you get around the track faster

Who do you go to the track with anyways? I have never seen you at any of the Speedstar days at Mosport or Shannonville...
