Default A few questions..

Ok, I am putting a roots type SC on and am curious about the boost levels that people are running through there cars with stock head gaskets?

Also what are some problems that you guys have run into with using the stock motor? This is not going to be a high horse power build so I really dont need any lecturing about blowing anything to kingdom come.. many people have ran A LOT more power out of a stock F20C then I ever intend to. haha But yes I do like to be more on the safe side.

So let me know.

Since your doing a Roots blower, It would depend on how you plan on intercooling your setup. THAT will be your biggest limiting factor. Assuming that your able to properly intercool your setup then you should expect roughly 10psi being your limit of safety and probably roughly 300whp-350whp depending on supporting mods and which blower you choose.

If you cant properly intercool the setup then ehhhh, i wouldnt mess with a roots blower at all on this engine.

Are you going with the SOT setup?

I'm running 30 psi on the stock HG and CR at 741 whp, but I'm on e85. If youre going to run pump piss then you will be limited to around 15 psi safely, but it also depends on your intercooler/aftercooler setup and what the blower is efficient at running.

Edit: Fixed. Sorry, I meant 15 psi, not 18.

Well im not to sure how I running everything yet. Was thinking of simply doing a mount on the intake itself. And no, it will be a one off made system. I was thinking of starting of at around 5-8 psi to make sure everything goes ok and then going to about 10 - 12 for daily driving and leaving it at that until the rest of the build gets funded and then the plans go a bit crazy..

And yes it will just be on good old pump gas. haha

I think your limiting factor will be how fast you can spin your roots blower/psi amount before you reach any engine mechanical or head gasket compromises. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can get more then 12-14psi out of a roots set up, and it will be producing so much heat at that point that water injection would be a strong consideration or must to keep the AIT in usable/safe levels.
