Default FI @ 60,000mi

I am almost at 60k on my 00 s2k. The car is stock except for an ACT clutch. I really want to add FI either a turbo or a s/c, but im wondering if my car already has too many miles that it would be risky.

What is the life expectancy of a stock 2.0 motor?

How long can a s/c, turbo engine expect to run for?

150,000miles?

It'll last just as long either way unless something actually breaks. There will be no appreciable difference in wear.

I got my kit installed at ~85,300 miles. I now have ~86,100 miles. I know thats not much but everything seems in tip top shape. I made sure to check that everything else was good with the motor before getting the kit (compression and leakdown tests and other maintenace done)

I think in the end it comes down to too many factors to say how long the motor will last..but basically if the motor is running strong now and you get a good tune you should be able to have it last a good amount of time depending on how you take care of it and maybe more importantly how hard you drive it after getting the kit...

I just finished my install yesterday minus the fuel system and I have 62000, I am really sick right now so working on it was extremely painfull.
as far having too many miles go, I think you've been talking to way to many people that drive domestics. honda builds 300k mile cars where ford builds them for 100k(generaly speaking), so think of it as if you were supercharging a mustang with 20k, its practically brand new.
oh yeah- go for it!!!

I was going to say that I added FI at 4,5000 miles, but compared to some of those who have already responded that's pretty low mileage.

Before I supercharged my MY00 I did the banjo bolt upgrade, and while the oil pan was off we inspected the bores. Also inspected the valve spring retainers and ran compression and leak-down tests. As it turned out, none of it was actually necessary, but it did give me a warm-fuzzy.
