Default Going Turbo?

The time has finally come and am ready to put my s2000 on boost. i was thinking about either buying a full bolt or just fabricate my own turbo kit. I'm looking to push around 500-600hp+ and if i put the turbo and push around that much what else would need to be done?
  • Cams
  • Cam heads
  • Valve and Retainers
  • Port heads
  • Low compression pistons
  • Rods
  • i was thinking of buying the 2.4L stroker kit but i heard that reduces your redline to about 7500

Let me know what you guys think and if am missing something else.

none of that first...boost it first. I feel no reason to spend all of that cash because there are MANY people running stock blocks with more then the power you want. Real Street Performance has been revving to 10k+ on stock ap1 block and stock compression with 500-700whp for almost a year or more now...and this should be in a different section.

Miguel nailed it, worry about the diff and tranny.. Although of you plan on launching the car I recommend building the head so you can run 2 step

Wouldn't be a bad idea to do springs/retainers/valves, and then just worry about the trans and rear end lol

Go for the full blown 8.8 rear end kit. You can keep a stock motor if you want to run e85 or a higher octane fuel if you want above 500 hp. Otherwise below 5 you can run 93. I hear of some breaking trannys at around 420 whp in 2nd. So try not to unleash until 3rd on up. But for sure do a rear end. And a nice manifold and decent size turbo you should be pretty set.
