Default This filter relocation didn't make a mess.

Well I forgot to mention when I did the oil change that I would give info on if it made a mess. Well it didn't make more than a 1/2 cup of oil mess and that was more my fault than the filter location. Here was the deal.

I unscrewed the oil filter and rather than put a towel under it when I lifted it off I just well...Lifted it off. The key to not making any mess at all is putting a towel in front of the block and tipping the oil filter in that direction. Other than that it is a great and easy place to have the filter.

It is just a little smaller than the chrome cover. I am using the M1-203 mobile one filter.

The oil filter is screwed down with the opening down. Hence why I have been asked about wether or not it was going to make a huge mess. I put a hole in a shop towel and put it over the fitler then unscrewed and removed the filter. The only place oil came out was the venter hole in the filter and even that was at a minimum. I am going to have a towel in one hand and pull off the filter in the other and there shouldn't even be a drop the next time around. I liked the location and now that I have changed the oil I like it even more. I made more of a mess with the Subaru filter than I did my upside down filter.
