Looks nice but I don't think this will help exploding the stock diff.

if your boosted stock diff isn't going to last long better off just buying an 8.8, 9" or R200. this cover is best for a road race car or scca car. where would you mount the cooler? in the front those would be some long steel braided lines to the front lol.

In the rear. Where else would you put it?

For example:

Do you care about looks or do you want to go fast and not blow up? And by the way, that 'ricer' car is a 1997 Callaway C7 which led the 1997 Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona at the 12 hour mark before an electrical failure knocked it out. Oh, and it hit 226 mph at LeMans. Hardly 'rice'.

So when people speak of the s2000 diff failing, what part of it is failing the casing or the actual gears inside?

Usually the pinion gear's crush collar deforms under a high load. This basically makes the pinion gear's shaft shift a little bit, shredding the pinion and ring gears and often splitting the front of the differential case.

Puddy makes a custom-fit sleeve instead of the OEM crush collar. It doesn't deform like the stock collar does.

It's also possible for the bearing caps to break (Comptech's solution strengthens this), but I think the crush collar on the pinion shaft is really the weakness.

This product won't help that, but it helps to keep the diff from overheating and breaking down the fluid. It has its place in a track car, but it's not a solution for FI guys breaking diffs at a drag strip.

^^ I figured the same thing out about a week ago and scratched this option off my list.

I had a feeling the FI guys would tear this thread apart.

By just enlarging the volume of the fluid - how is this equate to longivity of the gear?
Stock volume is sufficient enough.

It should be the strength & design of the gear in relation to the torque & speed?
