i also have an UR intercooler (but one intended for a turbo setup). it is fairly small and is supposed to work very well up to 12psi/400whp. i'm planning to fit it to the CTSC i have. i'm wondering if i should pursue it or just get the UR kit intended for the CTSC...

So did you show 8 lbs of boost on the dyno or how much boost was inline getting?

I got 304 HP on a dynapack running 8 lbs (recorded on the dyno) non aftercooled. On a dynapack you would be 350 plus easily IMO.
The dynojet read 8lbs. I looked at the gauge today and it read 8lbs as well.

Rashad, I don't know what your aspirations for power are. I was looking at doing anywhere from 320-350whp so the UR kit was the cheapest alternative for me. I was also looking at the the Precision core that Inline uses on their kits but I would've had to have piping fabricated and it would've been more expensive.

Doesn't matter, boost is boost. Whether it's coming from a SC or Turbo. Things to look for with intercooler piping are your clamps with high boost. V clamps are your best bet, they are great and can hold loads of boost. If you want and are running average amounts of boost (6-10) the stock clamps are just fine, V clamps never hurt! In an scenario no matter the amount of boost, they joys of larger intercoolers aid in pressure drops. It just happens. You are good bro.

The car is quick enough for now. The biggest improvement I have noticed is how smooth the engine is. Even when I'm not in boost, it feels smoother and faster then the car before. I have an 01, and I believe that the ecu run's rich to, so that may be the reason.

I'm sure its extremely easy to make it fit. The CTSC and the Vortec units are clocked and positiioned almost the same. I'm sure there is enough wiggle room in the IC pipes of the UR kit so that it can be made to connect. Worst case scenario you up needing a new coupler or having to cut off the very end of of the IC pipe that connects to the actual blower.

I wouldnt be scared of fitting the UR kit to a Vortec at all.
