Default Finally got my OEM hardtop and need help

Hey guys,

I know this isn't a force induction topic, but I know more people in this forum than anywhere else on the site so I wanted to ask here. I have a late model 02 and for some reason it doesn't seem to support the top on the rear latches, like it's missing the strikers back there. I always thought that any S past 01 had all hardware already in the car to support the hardtop. What exactly is it I need or am I just missing something and it will latch down on the rear of mine? The rear also won't sit all the way down, like it's hitting something in the striker area, maybe something for the soft top framing or something. I'll be pulling the soft top soon btw, so it'll be hard top for good. Also, the front latches seem to latch down good, but are those strikers needing replaced also since they were for the soft top?

The rear is a pain in the ass to get on right. You have to drop it down perfectly at the same time on both sides to get it to sit properly. I bent the catchers in ever so slightly to get it to sit right. I have got it on once before by myself.

Thanks guys, I'll check out that site. I thought my S would have all hardware (side catchers and all) from the factory since it is a late 02 model, that's whats confusing me.

I just checked majestic honda and those catchers are $200+ a piece. If I have to fork out another $400+ to get this top to go on, I'm gonna be pissed.

You need these:

None of the S2000's came with them from the factory

Well, caveat to my previous statement: the CR is the only S2000 that came with the requisite hardtop components.

Yep, check above.

The link I posted is the entire Honda factory accessory installation procedure.

I know the OEM hardware isn't cheap, but it's certainly worth it.
