AEM or autometer/Cobalt are good. Yeah definitely get the gauge before the oil cooler so you know which one to get. If you get one too big, your oil may never reach operating temp.
If you don't already have an oil pressure gauge, I would get that too. You should be able to find a sanwhich plate with 2 ports. If not, you can just use a T
