Fluidampr - crank damper
Ordered the Fluidampr from Urge Design and just thought I would show some pics:
It arrived extremely fast and very well packed. This box was inside another bigger box full of foam p-nuts etc.

Here are some side-by-side comparisons after wrestling off the OEM crank pulley:

I noticed that my OEM crank damper had splines and a key-way - the Fluidampr had a key-way but no splines. Patrick from Urge Design answered my questions immediately when I was right in the middle of installation. The crank does not have any splines so it is a just a keyed fitment - so go for it and install it! It slipped right on and keyed perfectly for a nice tight fit.
For those that are wondering what this is...it reduces the torsional vibrations and protects your engine. Since my S2k is boosted for about ~500whp, I want all the protection I can get. I put a call into my tuner for advice and he strongly recommended a quality crank damper designed for the car - this should do it. As a matter of fact all of his aftermarket builds includes a good quality harmonic balancer and after I asked my local speedshop, they confirmed it is a must for any aftermarket FI or heavily tracked cars. I have a final tune coming up in a week or so and I expect many WOT pulls - I feel safer having this installed.
I haven't driven with it yet, just letting it idle and the burping the coolant since my setup required removing a coolant line during installation/removal - I have a oil/water cooler and a coolant line was in the way. Anyway, the idle is fine...will test it out later in DD and dyno.
Thanks to Patrick from Urge Design for rapid responses to my questions and super fast shipping!

let us know if you notice anything with the fluidamper. only heard good things about them, but nothing so far on the S. i'm interested! the lack of splines has me somewhat interested in why they are not part of the design. seems it would increase contact surface area to the crank connection as well as decrease stress on the key. i know it's held in by the bolt, but still, seems like the splines are there for a reason ... or maybe the LACK of them is ALSO there for a reason. did patrick have any words of wisdom on the issue?
Anyways, it is still a keyed fitment and installed perfectly.

So far everything is great with the Fluidampr.
I added the ID1000s and FB 340 fuel pump in conjunction with the Fluidampr. I bumped up my fuel pressure to 50psi and it is connected to the TB so ~60psi. I had to completely redo my fuel maps and finally finished with the "fuel low speed". I have to hunt for vtec again and just began doing the "fuel high speed" maps - took out some ignition timing while I'm taking some fuel out.
It idles perfectly and stable just like stock - no hot stalls either. It's really hard to report on the performance of a crank dampener. With everything I have done so far, it responds like a completely different car, very street friendly and finally reliable.
***Edit*** My goals were accomplished, made 400whp @18psi on a Mustang dyno for a good street tune. The setup is an Inline Pro stage 1 kit with a 3mm head gasket. Drives like stock cruising and great power with some throttle. I poked around the speedshop and all the LS and Mopar aftermarkets had ATI super damper. Before we started the tuning, my crank damper was checked and they were impressed I came with a Fluidampr. I didn't get a standing ovation but I did get a nod and a thumbs up.
