Default Fluidampr, NEW S2000 fitment

We put in a call to Fluidamper 5 months ago and worked with them to measure, design and test a Crank damper that offers better vibration protection than OEM for our highly stressed motors

Boosted S2000s create more torque and thus greater crank deflection and vibration. The greater crank vibrations accelerate engine wear and an aftermarket crank damper is simply better protection for your engine reducing engine wear similar to using synthetic oil. Also, the OEM crank damper is part that gets worn out and needs to be replaced like brake pads or your clutch. It is designed to dampen crank vibrations by turning them into heat. Heat is not a friend of rubber and overtime it will wear it down reducing its effectiveness. Older S2000s should replace this part especially if it has been boosted.

Every built motor we build will have this damper installed it!!

Viscous type Crank Damper
  • Inertia Ring suspended in silicone gel in side damper hub vs Bonded to hub via rubber O-ring like OEM or other aftermarket dampers
  • Silicone is more heat tolerant than rubber & will not need to be rebuilt/replaced during life of your engine
  • Wider range of harmonic damping due to free floating design, rubber designs have narrower range of damping
  • Reduced Engine wear on bearings, timing chain & valvetrain (crank vibration shake everything attached to and run off it)
  • Noticeably smoother engine at idle and typical driving conditions, valvetrain is quieter as well
  • Possible HP gains due to "weightless effect" read here for details
S2000 Fitment
  • Designed off OEM damper, not modified K series damper
  • OEM diameter so it drives all accessories at Honda designed speeds
  • Should fit Kraftwerks Supercharger as it uses OEM Crank Damper
  • We are waiting on bolt patterns from Vortech, Comptech and SOS to verify fitment
Please post comments or thoughts..

List Price is $450, our Price is $375.

In for that answer as well, currently have an ATI, and that seems to be what I see most often, how does this compare?

The first run is made with the grooves, I will find out if we can have a set or 2 with out.

  • They use different technologies. The ATI unit is similar to the OEM as its inertia ring that dampens crank vibrations is bonded to the hub via multiple O-Rings. Fluidampr suspends the Inertia Ring in slicone gel. We feel it dampens harmonics over a wider range of frequencies as it is not bonded.
  • The Fluidampr does not need to be rebuilt over time due to the silicone design
  • Also, because its is not bonded, the Inertia Rings weight can actually be supported by engine vibration and centrifugal force to reduces rotational weight during operations. We saw a few more HP during our dyno tests.
  • This was designed to fit the S2000 like the OEM damper. Doesn't no underdrive the alternator or overdrive the water pump. The ATI is simply a modified K series damper.
  • We are a little more aggressive in our pricing

Thank you. Very interested. Also is it Sfi certified? Also what's the diameter?
