FMIC installed!.......on a Supercharger :)
First I just wanted to say that I know most of you frown upon the thought of Air to Air system for the SC. But after talking to a few CS w/AC, long distance driving and rush hour traffic seems to heat up the AC quite well....so I decided to go a this route.
Now I dont know why this forum is just clicky(sp) or stingy but no one seems to want to share their thoughts/pictures or how they installed their FMIC on their SC setup, unless they know you or you hang out with them. I dont know, but after asking so many people and only getting little to no useful information, I set out on my own to get this done. After a long winter, its finally done.
Sorry bout the no air box and dirty pipes. I just got it installed and havent polished them yet. Also, my T-Bolt clamps and better quality silicone couplers are still in the mail.
Here's a few things what contributed to going this route.
*Comptech out of business, hard as hell to find an AC.
*$1200+ price tag on the AC, makes one ask itself if its worth it.
*I might go turbo in the near future, I would have the IC system nearly done already.
*BOV....obviously.
*Bling...obvioulsy.
I have one important question though.....
How much does a CTSC w/ AC @7lbs make with:
Exhaust
Header
Stock Cat
And no aftermarket management?
* If I can get half the numbers as the AC does, since I paid only half of that and decided to use 2.25" piping to prevent as much boost lost as possible, I will be more then happy. I hope the Precision 600 wasnt overkill.....
Enough with the talk....onto the pics!

Protect those fins!!! ^^^

What the hell is that unit above the pipe? ^^^ I swear this was the hardest area of fabbing up the pipes.

HKS BOV......sounds so much different on SC setup.....
maybe I'm on neutral? Cant wait to drive it and really shift...

Finally ^^^^^

Smile....
Any questions or imputs, please feel free to shoot away. I will have no regrets in the end.....if anything, someone had to do it.

Do you know yet how much boost you lost with adding the FMIC? It looks great, but just keep in mind that you probably need to upgrade to a smaller pulley now that you have all that extra piping and the larger intercooler. Sorry if i'm stating what you may already know, I just wanted to make sure. Also, the thing above your piping on the driver's side is the factory air pump.
That looks really good. I would love to see that on a dyno to see how much boost/power that you loose and how it affects the temps. I also don't have an aftercooler and can't really get it anymore so I am interested in how this solution will work out for you.
X, I'm well aware of what you just said. I'm hoping by using 2.25" piping and carefully using the shortest route for my piping I can minimize that. I will definately dyno the 7lbs with and without this setup and update you guys. Again, if I can get half the horse of those CTSC w/AC, I'll be happy.

Not to be critical but some of those hose clamps look loose, like they may blow off during heavy pressure. Specifically the one connected to the supercharger.
He stated that the t bolts etc are in the mail.

Thanks Kev.
Chef, they are on actually pretty dame tight. I also went out of the way and welded a double stack of dimes right along the end of the piping to prevent blow offs too. And @ 5.5lbs I dont think they are gonna blow off anytime in the next couple of days. God these worm drive clamps are worthless.
