S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

FMIC installed!.......on a Supercharger :)

Interesting since I'm in the Comptech boat as well.

General, first off great job. Did you do that all yourself. I have been thinking about doing the same thing you did, because of comptech going out of business and the fact the aftercoolers cost $1000+.

Did you just use a universal intercooler or what? The dimensions on it looks like it fits the S nicely. If you can provide where you got the intercooler from that would be great.

Another thing I was thinking, is when using a non-coolant type of intercooler/aftercooler dont you get better tempuratures then using the coolant type. From my experiences it seems like the air temps would be cooler using the front mount air type then the coolant type which sometimes gives warmer air temps. If anyone wants to explain why this logic is not true, im all ears.
First, thanks for the props.

Yes, I did everysingle thing with my own two hands. All the welding as well(hence the shitty welds, aluminum with a light polish plating, is tricky to weld). I knew some of you comptech guys can relate and appreciate this thread.

The intercooler I used was the Precision 600(650?). If I was gonna do this, I didnt want to take any cheap routes where I wouldnt gain much. I have heard nothing but good things about the Precision Intercoolers from being a pior Integra owner. I got it brand new from a buddy for $350, but they can be had for about $400 all over Honda-Tech. It's actually a very tight fit, I had to shave off the fins on it(about 1" plate for people to make custom brakets for I think).

About non-coolant vs. air to air, I'm not gonna chime in on that, cause I dont know yet and I'm not gonna tell you what I assume. Cause all of the info I've read on here, people frown on the air to air for the superchargers. But when I talk people who actually owns the Comtech AC, they complain of heating issues after driving the car hard for a long time(autoX, track, etc) and rush hour type of driving, which is what I'm stuck here with most of the time in the twin cities. Thats why even upon people not reccomending it, I want to do it for me. Since every person I've PM'd running this air to air setup has provided little to no info if it was worth it or not.

Now, I have a question for you....that raw aluminum injector cover done yet?

Nice job General!!

who did the piping? I'm tempted to do the same thing!!!
Yes, I did all these with my own two hands. Local shop wanted $200 for labor and $120 for piping....I guess I'm more of a DIY guy.

You will see that the piping dont look straight in this above picture, but its cause the intercooler is not bolted up yet, hence the bend in the silicone couplers. BTW, I have exactly 2" clearance before the tire touches the piping(AP1 wheels) and 1/2" clearance with 17x8" with 225/45/17 BFGoodrich KDW2 NT's.

Sorry bout the big booger welds, Aluminum's alittle more tricky to weld. As long as they dont leak right?

One of the hardest to weld. Thinkness of flang vs. thickness of pipe =

For those that want to tackle this project and do it with the intentions of returning it back to stock comptech form, someday...the bung for the factory air pump is exaclty .75" and the bypass bung that goes back into the intake elbow is exactly 1".

ALSO, if you've read above my first drive with this setup...I was rather dissapointed (even though I was warned first already) that the HKS BOV wasnt gonna be loud at all. I remedy this problem by using a stronger harder vacume tube. Originally, I used the one HKS provided with the BOV and it basically colapse/shrunk with the underhood being so hot, therefore I BELIEVE didnt provide enough vacume pressure to open the BOV. Today's drive was rather.....satisfying. I was swooooshing all day in even low RPM's. I must say I had a fun.

[QUOTE=OverBooster,Apr 13 2007, 09:54 AM] You need to put a grill in the bumper to keep rocks, bugs, and other crap from hitting the intercooler and denting/screwing it up.

I'm very curious to see the dyno results from your setup, especially with higher boost levels. I give you for being creative and making your own intercooler kit for your SC, especially since us Comptech owners are pretty much screwed in terms of support (or spare parts) nowadays.

I have the Comptech SC with aftercooler, but with the Tech2 heat exchanger (or "interfooler", as I like to call it). I've noticed that in stop and go situations the heat exchanger gets really heat soaked, and the aftercooler unit itself gets really hot to the touch.

You see, this is exactly the reason why I decided to go this route...I too live in stop and go traffic pretty much 4-5days a week. I also recall, the Tech2 heat exchanger not adding any hp's during dyno as well. Some guy even went as far as wanting to install 2 water temps (one before the AC, one after the AC) to see if it was even dropping the temp. So if it wasnt helping, it was basically dead weight unless you liked the bling.
