Default Ford 8.8 rear end question

I'm in the process of getting the rear end so I can buy the full blown kit. My question is on full blowns website it says super coupe only. What's the difference between the super coupe tbird differential And the non super coupe rear ends, that makes the kit only "work" with the one? I have no clue about thunderbirds. And for all I know the non super coupe are solid axle or something. But figure is ask before I buy a rear end! Thanks!

Pretty sure the non-supercoupe Tbird diffs are not 8.8's (I believe they're 7.5's?)

You can use a cobra 8.8, but it will not mount exactly perfect.

Not correct. 01-04 cobra's had 8.8 irs. You could also get one from an explorer which also had the 8.8 and are usually much cheaper to find. You'll need to change the diff cover though.

Allen, the late 90s/early 00s were live axle and used an 8.8, I believe.
