Default Fuel Pressure Guage Install - How? Help!

Is there anyone out there who might have installed a Fuel Pressure Guage on their Vortech SC'd AP1? I've done a search and did not get anything. The FAQ has a thread for an install on a Comptech SC'd AP1 w/c eliminates the stock FPR.

I have read that the guage goes to where the damper is on the rail using an adapter...has anyone tried this? I also read that eliminating the damper is not good.

I need some ideas! Please let me know where you mounted it and what brand/parts you used. Thanks!

Never put one on myself but I can only assume it hooks up to the schrader valve somehow. other than tapping into the fpr on the rail i don't see how else you can directly measure the pressure at the rail.

Most drill & tap the fuel rail directly and install a liquid filled gauge. Mine has a Marshall unit. It's for sale btw

I've seen those gauges for $16. It does require drilling and tapping the fuel rail.
Mine looks like John's.

Thanks for the response! Is there any other way to install one without tapping the fuel rail?

Yep I have the same style gauge it has a mounting block the fits in the fuel line. You can remove the gauge and blank the port off. There is some history of these gauges failing when left installed.
Sorry no pics.

Just tap the fuel rail. It's real easy to do.
