Default Fuel pump noise

Just finished the install of my fuel pump for my sc and when I turn the key on, it makes a noise. Like its cycling fuel. Is that normal? My OEM pump made a noise also, this one is just more noticeable.

Normal if you have a Walbro 255 that's why they are called Whinebro LOL. I have since switched from the whinebro to the FullBlown 340 and it's a lot quieter.

Mine makes a good bit of noise back there. I also have the rear tray and all other sound deadening removed back there so very noticeable for me!

Normal. When you turn the key make sure you wait about 2 seconds or so before hitting the button, just so the fuel can cycle. Yes it's loud lol

I had heard that running the dedicated thicker gauge wiring from the battery to the fuel pump (through a relay) would make the "Whinebro" pump quieter, but I believe mine was LOUDER when wired direct to the battery. With mine wired through the factory wiring, it really isn't that noticeable when the car is on, and I have a stock exhaust. When in motion you can't hear the fuel pump over any other road noise. Its just when priming and a little bit at idle that you can hear it.

So how about this Civic hatch autox car I saw over the weekend that I could distinctly hear his fuel pump whining from about 100 feet away. It was impressive, lol. At least our "Whinebro" isn't that bad!

Why do you think you need to do that?
