Default Fuel rail and fuel regulator

Getting a full race kit with 1000ID injectors and a 255. Do I need a fuel rail and a regulator for 400whp goal?

It's been recommended to me. I'd like to start with 400 and move towards 600. 400 obviously with stock motor and 600 once I build it and get tons of other parts.

So 400-600whp range you say he doesn't need a fuel rail and fuel regulator for a daily driver? I don't think stock can handle that much for a daily beat on....

I told OP to look into Mase rather than full race for a newcomber turbo owner.

I'm running that exact setup (full-race, ID1000's, 255 walbro) with the stock fuel rail and regulator, and I'm over 400hp.

How? Why do I need a fuel regulator for a 320whp supercharger but a turbo above 400whp goal doesn't? To even run safe for a DD?

Are you running a full stand alone like K-Pro or AEM?

For me, I plan on running a piggyback Vortech FMU unit before I lower the pulley and then it will be a AEM Series 2 after I do more. But even then I plan on running a fuel regulator and also have a fuel rail handy with 725cc injectors.

What I don't understand is how he doesn't need a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel rail to make this thing reliable. These parts on this car at 72k miles aren't meant for this. I don't see why you recommend it being OK for a DD.

OP has a EMS I believe. Not sure if Series 2 or not.

The stock fuel rail and regulator are good for over 500hp IIRC.

The reason you need a FPR with the Comptech or Vortech kit is due to the piggyback units they use. I had a Comptech kit, and the ESM that came with it hid boost from the ECU. You then need a FPR to add fuel since the ECU won't do it. You don't have to hide boost from a stand alone.

Leave the stock rail and fpr alone unless you need them for fuel demands. Stock hardware can flow enough for anything you can make 93
