Full Blown 8.8 Rear End Kit
Well, I finally got my Ford Racing 8.8 rear end housing and have already run into issues with the Full Blown conversion kit not fitting properly. I have no doubts it is with the casting and machining issues with the housing and diff cover itself, and not the Full Blown pieces. But I figured it should be known that the conversion kit will not fit out of box with the Ford Racing 8.8 Aluminum Housing without some additional machine work. I decided to go with the Ford Racing aluminum housing because I don't really have the time to go sourcing through junk yards to find a used housing, plus for an aluminum housing with a diff cover with preload adjustments for the main caps for only $560 brand new, I figured it was a hell of a deal.
Here is the link where I ordered the housing from.

First I'll start off with the girdle cover.
The Full Blown bracket inner dimension is smaller than the dimension on the girdle cover. Also on the girdle, on the right side it tapers outwards as it gets deeper.
The 5" length on the bracket interferes with the webbing on the cover.
The depth of the bracket is also deeper than the machined portion of the cover
On the housing itself, the machined portions of the tabs just need to have a little more material removed for the bracket to fit properly.
Most of the machining work will be on the cover itself. I'm fortunate enough to have a machinist where I work, so fixing it shouldn't be a problem. But I know many are choosing to go this route, so I figure I would give a heads up if you plan on ordering this housing.
I've also been doing a lot of business with LJ @ Full Blown Motorsports lately, all of their products are top notch and are pleasure to do business with.

Hmmm. I did post pics, they don't seem to be showing up on tapatalk though. I haven't tried contacting them, because I'm 100% positive their kit isn't the issue. The kit was originally designed around the Tbird case, with the OEM cover. I'm just trying to make sure that people looking to use the case that I chose are aware of what they are getting into.

Our kit was designed for the oem stuff. Looks like the casting of the ford racing parts were not based off the OEM. Thanks for the info, weird thing is that I've had customers run that case and never reported a problem.

Whats the part no. of this cover? Is this same as M-4033-G3? http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...3-g3/overview/
Is this a direct replacement for the oem tbird cover F4LW-4033-AA? Just making sure before I order to replace my broken cover.
Thanks!
