Default Fuse box relocation

I've have been searching and reading about relocating the fuse box which sits by the exhaust manifold.

Has anyone relocated it undeneath the dash board were the airbag sits?

Also when you relocate under the dash i am assuming some wires will have to be extended, is that correct?

passenger airbag is gone so it looks like there is plenty of room here. Also it would be easy to access and away from heat and other elements opposed to putting it in the fender.

i like that idea better than behind the fender. I think u have to extend 6 wires.

Are you only moving just the fuse box and not the battery?

You say away from "elements". Think about the stock location. It's beside the exhaust header and even on a OEM car it can put out considerable heat. And many people vent there hoods in the same location putting water on these items and yet no one has any issue's.

The only reason turbo people move the fuse box is added heat from that specific area. I've had my fuse box in 2 locations now. The one you mentioned I believe and now in my Fender. Reason.......the fuse box is a pain in the passenger foot well. Maybe it's because I have big feet and so do several of my friends, but I always hated taking away any room and plus I always got parranoid with people jumping in, afraid they would kick it. I think the fender is the easiest and cleanest location for the fuse box and other unit beside it.

I just re read what you wrote and no I haven't seen it put there. I imagine it just takes a little bit of work to get it there, but not much. Let us know how you like it.

I didn't move mine due to heat, I moved mine b/c my wastegate wouldn't fit on unless I moved it.

In my opinion the fender is the best place, b/c it's safer there than in the engine bay, and I sure wouldn't remove my airbag, unless it was a track only car.

The fusebox fits so well in the fender that it looks stock. There are a variety of different gauge wires that you will have to modify to relocate it anywhere - IMO it would be a lot more work to put it where the airbag is

Looks great...until a fuse blows and you have to pull the fender to replace it...

Whens the last time you've blown a fuse?? I never have.

I installed mine in a way, that if I were to blow a fuse, I could just remove the back of the fender liner and replace it.
