Default gains from porting the intake manifold?

I would like to squeeze a bit more power out of my current boost levels and i was looking into getting my intake manifold ported with an upgraded throttlebody. I was not able to find much info besides reviews on the full blown manifold. How much power should the car pick up by doing this?

or if you did a before and after with any intake manifold please post it.

Thanks

I'm a bit curious about this as well as it's been some time since I've read up on it.

If I recall correctly, Puddymod on these boards offers IM porting & polishing. I'm not even entirely sure how big the stock TB is (I thinks somewhere on here there's a photo of a proper measurement though). I've heard everything from 62->64mm.

I really don't think it makes much of a difference. With my stock ap1 throttle body and Intake manifold I make 442whp on 91 octane. With a ported throttle body and ported stock Intake manifold I made 450whp on 91 octane. I'm sure it would make more of a difference at higher power levels but not much difference at the 400-500whp level.

450whp and the only change was the ported intake manifold and ported and bored out throttle body. The 617whp is on e85

Not sure what the above post is trying to accomplish, but to get the benefits from a ported intake, the head must flow the amount of air that suffices for the intake or it is just a waste of time and labor.

8whp not a significant difference? I guess we all have our definition of what qualifies as worthwhile. 8-12whp is a typical gain for this mod at any boost level. I fell right in that range with a 8psi supercharged set up. Id say for a few hundred bucks and an hour or two of porting work, its one of the better value per $ mods you can do, aside from just adding more boost. Throttle response/sensitivity goes up as well with this mod.

What more is needed, you got 2 guys saying it works and one dyno proven. 8-12whp. Cost of SOS TB and some inlet porting time. Seems worth it to me, but up to you. I know there is far more expensive mods for less results on this car.
