Gauge Placement

dude i was gonna say, two serial gauges would be kick ass for you. thats an assload of gauges in your car!

IMO, Looks like it needs an additional layer of plexi to look "completely" OEM (or the gauge slid out a tad). It looks like it was flush mounted to the back of the panel, when it should have been flushed to the front...
I am assuming that is a piece of metal cut from the OEM template (but not cutting out the AUDIO button, and cutting an opening for the gauge in its place), if so how is it attached? Were the OEM mounting tabs duplicated/mimicked?
Just my stereo/interior OCD coming out again... Not sure how it would have worked, or if the gauge would even allow for that type of mounting without customizing... Looks 99% amazing.
I was going to texturize/paint the AEM bezels on mine. Quick access to removal of the gauge was a necessity of my design (I was initially just going to run boost and AFR when it was designed... then I saw the 2 serial gauge option...), as I was probably going to be adding gauges later, and wanted the gauges to be interchangeable once they were all in place.
Serial gauges FTW. Just need sensors/activation in the EMS! Don't need to buy the entire gauge kit for each parameter you want to read. If you have a bunch of gauges, I think its actually cheaper too...
You can actually set the gauge to switch to a particular parameter if any of them get beyond a certain acceptable max/min threshold (i.e. - it will show you whatever reading is out of whack). It just needs to be properly tuned to do so...

no metal cut, i modify the factory housing, you have to take the guage apart, and mounting it is a secret
the serial guage setup is best, yes you can flip through it to monitor everything, you also can setup warning parimeters, so if one of the items being monitered goes outside of normal it will let you know, you can also hook up an audible beeper for warnings,

This is the one I have been harping about! best set up hands down!
I have my factory radio and that button is worthless anyway, all I use is mute volume and channel.
Who did that? I looks like an aluminum overlay, I would love to see how it was done.

Ah! cool to see a lot of people with same ideas about gauge placement!
Easy visibility and optimal Driver-to-gauge view angle FTW !
here's my Defis, still need to mount the EGT

stock DEFI brackets.
I cut the instrument panel/dash bezel and used glue on the brackets - underneath the bezel so you can't see it
Probably not something most people would like to do since you gotta notch the bezel.
I'll take close ups when I get a chance
