Any chance I can have a look at that map too? I am keen to see versions of the Boost Control as a starting point for my own.

Guys,

I'm a lowly SC'r but I had a 3rd Gen for a long time. I bought a dual stage manual boost controller from Turbo XS with a bigger wastegate and had really solid results with that all year round (hot as hell here in the summer and cold as hell in the winter...fall/spring are day to day).
Just a thought...

Let's see, a decent duel stage MBC will run you around $80 new, where a GM solenoid runs about $15 and you'll have boost control via a switch, vehicle speed, or rpm. I'll take option 2

I agree, the gm bcs linked into the ems is the way to go. Less wiring and less cost. Good thing there are people like Scorpion out there that will help out with the set up part since that was a little over my head

Yeah, RX-7...
I agree, the solonoid is the more cost effective option and was what I was using. I was having serious boost control issues in colder weather or when I wouldn't run the car for a while. The only thing that cured the issue was the manual boost controller and a bigger WG. To me, the peace of mind was worth it. I had rock solid boost control at all times...

It's all in the tuning brother I've been running the solenoid for a few months now and have never had an issue after I tuned it properly.

BTW, ex-eclipse, how'd that map work out for you? Boost any better?

I'm not sure yet. My boost gauge says its going all the way to 9.78psi and I have the target at 7.54? I have a lot of creep for some reason (I did before too). The tuners boost gauge also said 9.7psi but when I do data logging with ems it says 7.9-8.1psi at the highest so which one do I believe. The boost guage that I am using is the aem serial gauge which gets its info from the ems/map sensor. I will get out and do some data logging with it tomorrow and let you know what that says. Also it kind of feels like the spool up is a bit slower with your calibration, I dont know if that helps I am just going by what I feel which could be totally inacurate.

I must say the set up looks very different to others I have viewed.

I think this one came from Timg:

Notice the frequency.

Also the way the duty is 0 until the wastegate spring value at which point the boost control kicks in and then drops off as boost increases.
