Default GM Boost Solenoid or Boost Controller

Which is better? I heard with GM Boost Solenoid, you can adjust boost for each gear and i won't be needing a boost controller with it. Anybody using it? Any problems?

Some say sometimes it might spike the boost which might be dangerous.

Should I get it or get a boost controller??

I have the GM boost control solenoid and the AEM EMS controls it really well. No problems at all so far (~2500 turbo miles).

I think the GM solenoid with the AEM will work just fine. But I like the idea of a seperate controller so I don't have to use the laptop to make changes. And since I'm switching to turbosmart's eBoost controller, it's also a boost gauge that reads in psi. Finally something I understand without having to make a mental calculation.

AEM now has a boost controller in a gauge, like their UEGO controller/gauge. You can change the boost setting using buttons on the gauge. If that helps.
