Ok guys my goal now is 400WHP-450WHP, without changing much of what I have. I know there are better turbos out there and better kits out there, but I have the Ultimate Racing Turbo Kit and that is what I have to play with. I have heard both good and bad thingws about adding 2mm to 3mm headgaskets, but to me it now seems like a "Band-Aid" fix. I was thinking about building my motor, but if I said that I wouldn't know the half to start such a process and I don't know where to begin and what to get. Also, someone tell me with the Ultimate Racing Turbo Kit and 550cc injectors how much power can I run without using all my injector? Then tell me if it is wiser to go the built route or the headgasket route? I really don't mind the headgasket, but scared I might mess up my motor and that is the last thing I want. I know I ask for more than I can chew, but I want a new challenge. As far as my ranting what do you guys think I should do? Also, if you pick one process over the other or if you can explain both clearly with prices and all then I would be very GREATFUL. Also, is the switch from Greddy Emanage to AEM EMS where all the power making begins or can similar SAFE power be made from the Greddy Emanage?
HELP!!! I seriously want to start this project soon so if anyone can chime in and lead me in the right direction. And I am not telling people to make me pick one over just tell me why you picked the one you did and pricing would help.
ME WANT POWER, AND I WANT A SAFE MOTOR...HAHAHAH can I ask for anything more?!?
Timing control with the e-manage isn't all that great. You can make safer power with the AEM EMS. The headgasket is the way to go if you've got a good conditioned engine and low on $$$. If you have money, do it the right way. It never hurts to do it the right way except in the pockets.
You'll need EMS, built motor, boost controller, and a good tuner. I think with 550 injectors you won't be able to get much more than 400whp, but I also enjoy talking out of my ars
Btw, how much boost are you running? I don't think you've mentioned that. Switching over to AEM ems and larger injectors, say 750cc, up the boost to 9-10psi, get a good tune and you'll get pretty close to the 400 whp mark. If you do a search there are a number of posts indicating that the stock engine can handle 10psi without a headgasket or built motor. that 550cc injectors are good for around 350whp and general consensus indicates they're the largest emanage can handle. Unless you up the fuel pressure greatly, (band-aid solution though) you'd be better off upsizing your injectors. Have a look at these posts for some ideas:
